Shannon O’Carolan is a Legal Executive at Crushell & Co Solicitors, supporting clients in workplace accident, occupational injury, employer liability, and related employment law matters. Shannon assists employees who have suffered injuries at work and who require support in navigating the legal, medical, financial, and employment consequences of an accident.

Shannon has developed considerable experience in the end-to-end management of contentious claims. She assists with matters arising from unsafe working environments, manual handling incidents, slips and falls, defective equipment, failures in training or supervision, inadequate protective equipment, and other alleged breaches of workplace health and safety obligations. She also supports clients whose conditions have developed over time because of repetitive work, occupational exposure, or an alleged failure to address known workplace risks.

Her work includes taking detailed instructions regarding the accident and its consequences, preparing chronologies, reviewing accident reports and relevant workplace documents, coordinating medical and employment evidence, identifying potential witnesses, drafting correspondence, preparing detailed written submissions, and compiling books of evidence. Shannon works closely with solicitors, counsel, medical professionals, and clients to ensure that each claim is properly documented and prepared.

Shannon also assists where a workplace injury has resulted in a connected employment dispute. These matters may involve extended sick leave, loss of earnings, capability assessments, pressure to return to work before recovery, failures to provide reasonable accommodation, disability discrimination, grievance procedures, or the termination of employment. Her experience in employment claims allows her to consider how the injury has affected not only the client’s health but also their job security, income, future employment prospects, and ability to participate fully in the workplace.

Shannon graduated from Maynooth University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Since joining Crushell & Co Solicitors, she has continued to develop her knowledge of employer liability, workplace safety, occupational injury claims, evidence preparation, and the rights of employees following an accident at work.

Shannon is known for her client-focused approach, combining strong technical capability with clear communication and an approachable manner. She understands that clients may be dealing with pain, financial uncertainty, and concerns about their employment while pursuing a claim. She therefore works to ensure that each client feels listened to, informed, and supported throughout the process.

Outside of her professional work, Shannon enjoys staying active, particularly through swimming.
